Applying for a UK Passport in Australia
Posted on | January 13, 2009 | 8 Comments
I am lucky to have a father who is Scottish, which means I can apply for a UK passport and I won’t need to worry about visa restrictions. I recently applied for my UK passport, although I am waiting to recieve it.
It is really easy to apply for one (assuming you have all the right documentation). Depending on what country you are in will depend on what website will best serve you. For us Australians in Australia the website to go to for UK visa or passport related queries is http://ukinaustralia.fco.gov.uk/en/. The passport section of the website http://ukinaustralia.fco.gov.uk/en/passports/ tells you every thing you need to know to get your UK passport.
Dumb Laws from around the world

I was surfing the net looking at random blogs and I came across a site that had some really interesting laws from around the world listed. I don’t think they are all true as there are some from Australia that I just can’t believe, for example a taxi driver must have a bail of hay in the boot (lol). Some are pretty funny though and worth a read even if it is just to relieve the boredom of being at work.

After much research I finally decided to buy a new digital camera. I opted for the Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 which is an 8.1 megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom. The picture quality is awesome and the camera looks great.

Holidaying in Noosa

As you can see I have been very slack with writing blog entries over the last 2 weeks or so. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to write them I just enjoyed doing nothing on my holidays too much. I would often sit there thinking to myself… I really need to do some write something on my blog or noone is going to ever return to the site. However the enthusiasm just wasn’t there.
We were holidaying right on the Noosa River in Qld, Australia.

Boxing day Sales
Posted on | December 26, 2008 | No Comments
Today I went with my family to the boxing day sales in the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane, Australia. It was incredibly crowded and painful to shop with so many people around, however it was a great chance to get some real bargains. I managed to pick up two large suitcases (one for me and one for Jess) from Myer for half their original price (normally $180 only $90 each today).
There are sales on for just about everything from clothes to electrical items and it was a great opportunity for the money conscious traveller.
The sales occur annually in Australia starting on Boxing day and continue until the end (or near the end) of January 2009 at major retailers around the country.
